Ways to Get Involved

Here are some suggestions on how you can get involved in the Week of Prayer and Awareness for Dementia 12th to 19th March.

  • Set aside some time during the day/week to pray.
  • Invite friends and neighbours to pray.
  • Use the colour Yellow imaginatively to raise awareness.
  • Any donations would be welcomed by the Pastoral Care Project Charity who initiates this event.
  • Visit the Resources section of this site for ideas and we would love to hear how you have marked the Week.

Extract from an email received from a Care Home worker who told us "a visiting worker from Sweden took back Prayer Cards as they didn't have a Day of Prayer in Sweden."

Questions & Answers

Can I use the Prayer Card with a few of my friends at the carers group?

Yes of course, there are also many prayers to choose from in

the resources section of the website.

Where can I buy more cards from?

Cards are available from the Pastoral Care Project, please e-mail us at
        pastoralcareproject@gmail.com or telephone 01675 434035.

We belong to a small church can you give us ideas of ways of praying which would help people with dementia?

Please contact us via e-mail at pastoralcareproject@gmail.com or call
the office on 01675 434035 and we can talk through some ideas.  We
will also be able to forward some resources to you.

I am a Care Home activity organiser and would like to involve the residents, what would you suggest would be suitable for all denominations and how can you assist us?
The Prayer Cards would be ideal as they are suitable for all faiths.
The picture on the card is inspiring and the prayer on the back is clear
text with a laminated finish.  Contact us for Prayer Cards or any other
information you require regarding holding a service on the Day.
